Why are trees cut down?

The clearing, cutting, and removal of a forest is done for many different purposes. Sometimes a whole forest is cut down to make space for new houses and buildings. Some companies remove forests for paper and wooden products such as toothpicks. And some companies cut down trees for wood to build houses with. But the main issue is that most people are not aware of the seriousness of deforestation and the consequences that we have to help Earth deal with when our precious land is destroyed. Rarely, the ecosystem is reclaimed, but it costs an unthinkable amount of money. Sometimes trees are cut down anywhere around a house for safety reasons because of interference with power lines, dead wood, diseased trees and other hazards. More than half of the world's rainforests are already gone, and if there are no efforts to help save the forests, scentists think that the remaining forests are in danger of being cleared in less than 40 years.
